Beck Hartigan
Dog training and Rescue

Beck started her career in the dog world early on in life. Even at the young age of 8 years old she was caretaking for neighbors dogs and problem solving. During her high school and early college years, Beck began dog walking in the community and quickly realized she had a passion for dogs!
She took that to the next level when she joined For the Love of Dogs Rescue team as a Lead Handler, Adoption Coordinator and eventually adding Dog Training to her ever growing repertoire. During her years at Love Dogs, Beck found her niche in dog training and behavior. She worked along side and was mentored by Jamie where they trained, enriched and adopted out hundreds of dogs ranging from all ages, sizes and temperaments. Beck perfected her skills in all aspects of dog training including but not limited to obedience, family manners, rescue work, behavior modification for all types of fear based/aggression issues, enrichment as well as full scale methods of training specific behaviors and equipment use.
Beck always had an affinity for dogs and a natural ability around them. She is one of those people that has a remarkable gift when working with animals and is able to read their body language on a level that may take others a lifetime to learn! She is compassionate and very in tune with the individual dog she is working with in that moment. You can count on Beck to always advocate for the dog that is in front of her! She will take the time she needs to gain trust with the dog to be able to reach training goals efficiently and smoothly. Beck has a kind, understanding way about her that makes working with her easy for you and your dog.
Here at Lead the Leash, Jamie and Beck will often working together to support each others dog/owner teams programs. This is incredibly beneficial for our clients because it enables us to have two sets of eyes on some of the more complex cases utilizing both of our unique skillsets simultaneously. Beck has continued her education in canine behavior by taking numerous courses and workshops to be able to provide the most up to date methods to her clients possible.
