Jamie Ianello
Dog Training, Behavior and Rescue
Jamie is dedicated to helping dogs and their owners build relationships based on trust, understanding and clear communication It can be a frustrating experience loving your dog unconditionally but not be able to control them in certain situations or fully understand the why behind the behaviors. Jamie believes in strong, positive leadership roles within your family. She has a calm energy when working with dogs and a comfortable, family like feel when working with her clients. Having experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and quirks, she is very relatable and understanding. It is so important that all dog owners fully grasp how their actions affect their dogs behavior. Jamie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and works with her clients (dogs and humans!) with kindness, clarity and compassion. |
In 2007, while still in high school, Jamie started working with animals through dog walking. She built up a large full time dog walking business in the community and eventually decided to shift exclusively to dog training. In 2010, Jamie graduated with Honors from Anthony Jerones School of Dog Training and has been training dogs and their owners all over Westchester County ever since. Since graduating, Jamie has continued to learn from other professionals locally and around the world to be able to keep up with the most relative and science based training tools. Attending countless seminars, courses, workshops and self studies, you can be sure Jamie is up to date on all things DOG and continues to learn to be able to give you and your dog the highest quality training possible.
Jamie went on to teach group classes, private training and board and trains covering all grounds of dog training and behavior. Jamie worked with Pets for Vets as a Lead Trainer in the area for 6 years where she evaluated, trained and placed shelter dogs with US Veterans. Jamie has also worked with countless rescue and shelter organizations including For the Love of Dogs Rescue where she served as Manager, Dog Trainer and Behaviorist for 9 years. Along with an amazing team, Jamie ran a full rescue and adoption organization with the main focus of education on proper dog care, day to day operations, dog body language, the transition of a rescue dog, kids & dogs and more. Jamie has extensive experience and education working with rescue dogs, aggression, fearfulness and reactivity. During her time in rescue, she has successfully adopted out and supported well over 3000 dogs of all types. Fearful dogs are her speciality and passion!! Her methods are wide verse and vary from dog to dog. Not every dog learns, thinks or feels the same so by sticking with one training method across the board you can actually do more harm then good. All of Jamie's different methods consist of positive reinforcement, motivation, boundaries and a deep understanding of canine behavior and psychology. Jamie is certified as a Shelter Behavior Affiliate (SBA) and is currently working on her Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) credential both through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She graduated from Anthony Jerones School of Dog Training with honors. "While I love all aspects of dog training and behavior, my heart is with dog rescue. Each rescue dog I have had the pleasure of working with has taught me something new about dog training and about life. You are never done learning. I can't get enough of those amazing dogs!" Jamie and Dan are parents to three beautiful children; Keaton and twins, Aiden and Colin. They also have three dogs; Sage, Mollie and Cali along with Munchkin the cat!
