Nick Del Bene
Dog training

Nick traded in a career in corporate marketing for an opportunity to pursue his passion of caring for animals. His first opportunity came in the world of rescue, where he learned that not only did he have a passion for working with dogs - he had a knack for it too! This is also where he had the chance to work with and learn from Jamie and Beck. In his time there, he sharpened his skills in obedience, family manners, enrichment, and behavior modification for all types of fear-based/aggression issues. Over nearly half a decade, Nick had the chance to work with hundreds of dogs of varying sizes, ages, and temperaments - helping many of them to find loving homes.
Additionally, Nick has worked at SPCA of Westchester as an Adoption Conselor and Animal Care Specialist. He worked closely with the training team there to provide enrichment and training for their most challenging dogs. This process included assesing the behavior of each individual dog and crafting a development plan for each. Utilizing a series positive reinforcement-based methods, Nick and the training staff then helped acclimate dogs to the busy shelter environment and built up social skills that would prepare them for life in a new home.
Outside the world of rescue, Nick continues to build his knowledge through canine behavior studies, classes, and workshops. He strives to provide training that is guided by the most up to date information available. Nick’s training is also guided by his compassion. He has often been tasked with working with “the shy ones” because of his ability to understand and communicate with them without pushing too far beyond their comfort level. He works to find the middle ground, build trust, and make training a fulfilling experience for all involved.
