Our dogs, past and present <3
SageFearful rescue girl. Loyal protecter of the house. My shadow.
Sagey was first brought to our rescue at four months old. She was terribly skittish, fearful and always looking for a way to escape. I worked with Sage at the rescue for two years while we waited for her to get adopted. We did a ton of great work together and she slowly got over some of her fears. She loves horses cats and other dogs. We went for hikes, did obedience training, playgroups and all the fun things together. Naturally, grew a serious bond! Sage began to become OBSESSED with me. Probably to an unhealthy degree but what can you do.. Every time she would hear my voice when I came into work she would flip and howl in her kennel until I came to get her. After all that time of waiting for a home, no one came for her... well it seemed fate was simply waiting for us to realize we belonged together forever! Sage got along great with Koda, Tink and Munchkin the kitty.. everything fell into place for her to come home with us on January 3rd 2016 and we haven't looked back since! Sage's confidence has grown more then I ever dreamed of. She fiercely protects the house and is an incredible companion to our children. Yes she is still obsessed with me... we are in it together forever! |

CaliCrazy in a dog body. Loves obedience. Wild huntress. Cali is our wild child working German shorthair pointer. She is a for sure "workaholic" and enjoys doing anything and everything outdoors! While she has turned into an incredibly calm inside family dog, Cali's true love is working outside with Dan. She has gone through tons of training; obedience, pointing and all things a hunting dog should do! She has remarkable drive and problem solving abilities. If I'd hav to guess, I would say Cali's most FAV thing to do is swimming. She has incredible endurance and will FLY into the water. She will not come back until she has found her ball.. even if that means swimming in circles for 20 mins! Although Cali can be quite crazy, she is true to her breed and we love her sweetie pie self! |

MolliePeaceful. Easiest dog you'll ever meet. Mollie Dog was found emaciated and almost hairless on the streets of South Carolina. This sweet baby girl had her ears cropped by someone and then was abandoned with a terrible skin infection, heart work and bronchitis. After a ton of TLC and vet care, Mollie was healthy enough to be transported to us. Mollie arrived to NY shortly after Tink passed away... we had Koda, Cali and Sage but we had a huge hole in the household without our Tink. The timing was just right and we could not resist Mollie's ridiculously adorable self. Just look at how CUTE and CHUNKY she is!! We took her home to "foster" her and the rest is history! She's the easiest dog ever... she gets along great with our dogs and kitty Munchkin and is fantastic with our son Keaton. Mollie is perfect in every way! |

We lost suddenly on Friday, September 4th 2020 from a heart attack due to a heart tumor just shy of her 9th birthday. Rest in peace my sweet angel, we miss you more then you'll ever know.
My sweet beautiful little Tink. You brought so much joy to every person you met and you radiated pure happiness. You were always at my feet, walking two steps behind me.. my little side kick gone way too soon. My heart will never be whole again but you are woven into my soul and we all will miss you so so much. Thank you for giving us unconditional love and constant companionship. Thank you for helping me through sad times. Thank you for riding the wave of life with our family always smiling up at us. You were perfect in every way. - Food hound. Training genius. A spunky free spirit. Little 9 lb Tink was and still is my heart and soul. Fate led me to her one busy day when I got a call that a local pet store was going out of business and sending their remaining dogs to an unknown place... Me and a few other rescue friends went in and we were able to rescue all of the dogs. I, of course, ended up pulling this little scrawny, scared pomeranian. It was to late to board her at the vet so she stayed with me that night, and never left! Since that day Tink barely left my side. Day 1 she wouldn't walk outside and would get very defensive if I touched her feet or took a bone. Through obedience, training, exercise and understanding Tink soon learned to trust me and, in turn, all humans and dog friends alike. She was a genius demo dog for all of my training classes, helped rehabilitate countless dogs and was a therapy dog at a few different nursing homes. This little spark plug would go on 10+ mile hikes with us and was always ready to do anything. For as little as she was, she was full of life, love and tail wags. She radiated pure joy constantly. |

No one expects to lose two dogs within a few months of each other but that is exactly what happened to us. Koda was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in December and we peacefully said goodbye to our boy on January 8th, 2020.
There is so much to say about our Sweet Koda. He was absolutely incredible. Inquisitive, connected, quirky, laser focused and confident as could be.. Koda was Dan’s right hand man and our whole family’s loyal constant companion. Trick master, lovingly cat obsessive and a fetch fanatic.. from the moment we brought him home in 2010 to today, Koda never stopped playing. Even while the cancer was destroying his body and he hadn’t eaten in days, he was still dropping the ball at our feet. Today was one of the saddest days but it was so beautiful all at the same time. In our yard by the woods we played, we cried, we snuggled and we said farewell to our best boy. Say hello to Tink for us, Koda man. Our home will never be the same without you.♥️ - Smart as a whip. Command master. Ball addict. Koda is our lovely border collie we have had since he was a puppy. He is the most intelligent dog I have ever met, and I have met a lot of dogs! Border collies are a very sensitive, working breed. They require constant mental and physical stimulation just to get by happily day to day. Sometimes they are to smart for their own good! We understand this need Koda has to we make sure to keep up with his training and daily stimulation. He knows a ton of commands and tricks, including "Get me a beer" from the fridge! Koda is scent detection trained, a Mamaroneck Goose Dog and often accompanies me on trainings and classes as my demo dog. He's is a ball addict and will play fetch until he collapses. He is such a blast! |

Munchkin cat
Of course, we can't forget about the one who actually rules the house hold.. our honorary dog in a cat costume, meet Munchkin! I rescued Munchkin from Mount Vernon Animal Shelter in 2009 and we have been inseparable ever since. This little cat is one of those sweet, perfect cats that never scratches and acts like a puppy. She's been a constant companion my entire adult life moving with me through so many transitions. She bosses all the dogs around and acts like the owns the house.. because she does! I am absolutely head over heels in love with her and I can't quite imagine life without her!

Lover of all things. Garbage can raider level Expert.
The 'Magic' in 'It's Magic Dog Training', my old business name, was named after my first dog that started it all, a wheaten terrier named Magic. Magic came to us when I was 9 years old, right after the passing of my beloved Grandmother. She was one of those dogs that when you looked into their eyes it was like they were looking into your soul. She was a wonderful family dog and your typical crazy wheaten, her tail never stopped wagging! Magic lost her battle with a brain tumor at just 12 years old. It was one of the hardest loses my family has ever gone through to date, losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. I strive to live like Magic did up until her very last day always giving, never taking with unconditional love and happiness.
